How to Arrive from the Malta Airport to the Oliasi Accommodation
Our Oliasi student house accommodation is located in two areas:

For Oliasi House 2 and 3, the approximate distance from Malta International Airport to our student accommodation in Birkirkara is around 7 km (approximately 4 miles). Depending on traffic conditions, the journey usually takes between 15 and 25 minutes by car.
For Oliasi House 4, the approximate distance from Malta International Airport to our Oliasi student accommodation in Naxxar is around 11 km (approximately 7 miles). Depending on traffic conditions, the journey usually takes 20 to 30 minutes by car.
There are several convenient other options of transport from Malta airport available to reach your Oliasi student accommodation in Birkirkara and Naxxar.
By Bus
Malta’s public bus system, operated by Malta Public Transport, provides regular services from Malta International Airport to various destinations across the island. The bus is the most affordable option, with a one-way ticket typically costing between €2 and €3 for Birkirkara. The journey to Birkirkara usually takes around 30–45 minutes, depending on traffic and route.
For Naxxar, it takes approximately 40 to 55 minutes, depending on the route and traffic conditions. A one-way bus ticket usually costs €2–€3. Students travelling by bus will normally need to change buses at Valletta or another main interchange before continuing to Naxxar.
Buses depart directly outside the airport terminal. Malta is a small but densely populated island, so travel times may vary during peak hours. If you choose to travel by bus, please contact us at the time of booking, and we will provide detailed directions to your specific accommodation.
By Taxi
Taking a taxi is the quickest and most convenient way to reach your student accommodation. Official white taxis are available directly outside the airport arrivals area. In addition, you can book a taxi using mobile applications such as Bolt or ecabs, which are widely used in Malta. These services are reliable, affordable, and usually arrive within a few minutes.
Taxi fares from Malta International Airport to Birkirkara generally range between €15 and €25, and from Malta International Airport to Naxxar generally range between €18 and €28, depending on traffic and time of day. Taxi travel is recommended if you are arriving with heavy luggage or late at night.
By Car Rental
Car rental services are available at Malta International Airport. You can collect your vehicle immediately upon arrival. Renting a car may be useful if you plan to explore the island frequently, although many students find public transport sufficient for daily commuting.
Please note that Malta drives on the left-hand side of the road.
